As a pediatrician and mother to a 10 year old daughter -- just want to say thanks and kudos for an excellent DVD. I bought this on suggestion from a parent of a patient of mine and REALLY loved it. Very age appropriate for my daughter -- great practical information. It was exactly the right amount , right info and the right time!

My daughter and I were away from home (and my wife) for most of the summer. My daughter is ten, and was attending several sleep-away camps, many with older girls age 10 – 14. The Girl Scout camp application actually asked, “Has your daughter began menstruating? Have you talked to your daughter about menstruation?”

Apparently it’s a common problem for girls to get their first period at Summer Camp and have little/no idea what is happening to them. Camp counselors have to explain and it’s a delicate situation that, IMO [in my opinion], should have been addressed at home.

SO, one morning before she left for camp, we had some fun, went out for a little shopping and lunch. Then we spent a couple of hours with your video and the rest of the kit. We’d watch a while and then pause the video to discuss. I made it clear that this was just the start of a conversation that we would be having for the next several years, and that when we got home, she could talk to Mommy (or me) about whatever questions came up.

Your kit was an excellent way for this father to extend his relationship with his daughter while giving her a head-start and thorough education on a subject area where I have no first-hand knowledge.

Since getting home, my wife and daughter have watched the video together. She and I agree that you have created a much needed and extremely valuable product.

I am a divorced Dad trying to do what’s best for my 11yr old and prepare her while letting her remain private. Your DVD and preparation opening letter was excellent on getting me out of the room so her step mom and her could watch through it!
